PLEASE NOTE: These shims are to be used only with SCAR-specific muzzle devices that overlap the barrel i.e. “over the barrel” muzzle devices that interface with the MUZZLE of the barrel and NOT the shoulder.
These custom-manufactured shims were developed by LGA Systems to allow proper indexing of a muzzle device (e.g. flash hider or muzzle brake) on the FN SCAR 7.62mm battle rifle. Originally developed to allow the use of a KAC 7.62 QDC suppressor on the SCAR, these shims will also work with most other manufacturers' muzzle devices that are SCAR-specific i.e. "over the barrel" type flash hiders or brakes, such as those available from Rugged Suppressors and Dead Air Silencers.
The original suppressors made by FN and AAC for the real Mk 17 SCAR battle rifles used quick-detach muzzle devices that timed off of the 5/8"x24 threaded muzzle and NOT the barrel shoulder! This is because the thin barrel profile of the SCAR does not leave adequate shoulder surface for the mounting of accessories.
The use of off-the-shelf peel washers is also highly discouraged. The adhesive between each thin layer of the washer will burn away, essentially leaving the washers "loose" and opening the door to problems such as baffle strikes, POI shift, etc.

We worked directly with Knights Armament Company's OEM shim supplier to bring you a high-quality shim set. Precision stamped and then media tumbled to de-burr the edges. Dimensioned perfectly through our in-house R&D to ensure the shims cannot obstruct the bore hole of the KAC muzzle devices or the barrel bore itself. Each kit comes with 4 ea .001" thick, 3 ea .005" thick, and 2 ea .020" thick shims to achieve precise indexing.
